Product Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting a product vision and strategy.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Continue professional and technical education, seminars, product enablement, etc.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI.
  • Other assigned tasks from time to time as the need arises.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Product Design, Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of proven work experience in product management or as an associate product manager.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products.
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management.
  • Ability to measure the success of a product.
  • Ability to explain business and technical requirements to all members of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Knowledgeable with CRM software (i.e. Salesforce, etc.) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel).
